The Lake Harrison Marketplace incorporates our in-city lake, national historic district, downtown square and convention facility and includes destination shopping, unique restaurant and lodging facilities, The Lyric Theater as well as serving as the primary location for the many community-wide festivals and events. Skateboard enthusiasts can enjoy Harrison's new skate park. Bike and pedestrian friendly roads and trails connect the shopping area to the lake where over three miles of trails run past community playgrounds, fishing holes, soccer fields, basketball courts and the community swimming pool. For destination shopping one can explore second hand treasures, visit a hometown flower shop, buy current trends and Toms shoes or visit an original Montgomery Wards now housing a fine furnishing and appliance shop. For history buffs, our Saturday walking tour is a favorite with the Boone County Heritage Museum within walking distance. Chains in the marketplace are rare while fun events happen with great regularity. The 1929 Hotel Seville serves as community host while independent eateries from a cupcake shop to a hometown diner are scattered throughout the district.
